Couple and Relationship Psychotherapy
In relationships, people develop powerful patterns of interaction. These patterns are informed by our earliest bonds, the ones that formed our understanding of what a relationship is and what it can and cannot provide — as well as our sense of self and the world we inhabit.
It can be hard to grasp the larger relationship dynamics from within them. And even once we’ve come to recognize our patterns, they can be hard to alter.
Relationship therapy allows us to understand what’s at play — to explore how and why certain patterns emerge, and to experiment with new ways of relating. Through this process, communication may strengthen, emotional and physical intimacy may deepen, and partners can begin to cultivate more authentic and fulfilling connections.
My approach is grounded in attachment theory, contemporary psychoanalysis, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I welcome clients across a wide variety of relationship structures and configurations — including queer platonic relationships, polyamorous and open relationships, monogamous partnerships, couples, and friendships.
