FAQ

You may not know if you’re ready to begin therapy. It’s normal to feel conflicted or uncertain, especially at the very outset of your search for help.
Ultimately, whether or not to seek psychotherapy is entirely up to you. If you suspect you may benefit from additional support, or are curious about how therapy could improve your life, I invite you to reach out. Our first call is free and lasts about 20 minutes. We’ll explore your interest in therapy, address your questions and hesitations, discuss how we might work together, and see whether it feels right to take the next step.
-
A good therapeutic fit will leave you feeling engaged, respected, seen, and understood. It’s a relationship that feels safe enough to open up in, and steady and spacious enough to hold what you bring.
Our initial call and early sessions are a chance for both of us to sense whether that connection is there. If it doesn’t feel right, I’m happy to help you find another therapist who might be a better match.

Yes, what you share in therapy is private. I will not share information about you or your sessions with anyone without your permission, except in specific situations required by law or professional ethics.
In individual therapy, what you share with me remains confidential, however in couples or group work, confidentiality belongs to everyone in the room. I’ll keep all clinical records private, but it’s important to know that I can’t control what other participants choose to share outside of sessions.
-
The length of therapy is tailored to individual client needs and circumstances. Some people come for a few months to focus on a specific issue, while others stay longer to explore deeper patterns and sustain personal growth. In sessions, we regularly reflect on the changes taking place and decide together how long to continue.
-
Sessions are held once a week. This steady rhythm propels the work forward and helps sustain momentum. A weekly cadence also plays a vital role in building the trust and connection that make therapy effective.
-
Individual sessions last 45 minutes, relationship sessions last 60 minutes, and group sessions last 1.5 hours.
-
I require a 48-hour notice of cancellation or you will need to pay for the appointment. When possible, I do my best to try and reschedule you later in the week.
